Holy crap! Is it just a visual bug or is it real damage?

Also, it looks like that's related to a healer's "inspire" skill?

It seems to be real damage, I got to enemy lvl 520 with max clvl 34 before closing this run (too much one-shots, replacing killed people at each ennemy is not that fun).

I could not check if a certain skill or combination created theses very high numbers (too much action going on), but I am sure these numbers cames from berserks and/or knight an/or ice mages

Gotcha. Does it happen throughout a normal play-through, or only in end-game play at high levels?

I only noticed it today (after patching).

I only did an end-game battle (#1 unlimited) and it apperead on this battle.

hi,
i first notices that bug after updating today, too.
imho it seems, that the dmg sums up to infinity. in my case, the fireball of the dragons do more and more dmg. i sadly realized it too late, after doing some three star dungeons remaining :/

This happened to me as well. I THINK it was coming from the "ice splash" skill, but I wouldn't swear to it. The dragon's fireball was also doing 6 figures worth of damage, as well. Mine occured on the endless map, as well.

I think the problem comes from stacking Zeals. Just tried Endless with just Dragons and Healers, and the huge damage started once I had overlapping Zeals on the same Dragon with Boost 5. It doesn't work out mathematically, but that's what makes it a bug, I guess.

Sometimes, the damage says it's 0, probably overload or something.

For me, it was happening with Ice Splash. I was running endless and it was stupidly easy because my ice mages were one shotting everything with excessive damage. When I recalled them, the damage stopped happening and I lost pretty quickly. My dragons were elsewhere, so it could be a bug with both the ice mages and the dragons, but it can definitely happen without dragons.

Boost 5 ice mages under Zeal with level 9 inspire. Not sure if they were under two Zeals or not.

In case anyone's interested, I replicated this on a map other than Endless. 2 Dragons and 4 Healers all at Boost 5. Very satisfying to kill a boss when their life is still half-full!

Also one-shotted the super-sheep

So stacked zeals seem to be the issue? I notice in the screenshot the inflated damage numbers are gold.

Maybe the stacked Zeals, but it seems to increase over time. My (new) guess is that some parts of some attacks, like the AOE of Fire Ball and Ice Splash, never lose the buff, and it just keeps increasing.

Bug? 1,000,000+ damage hits with Ice Mage

I've done this strategy several times now, and even beat the golden sheep at level 20 with it. I'm not exactly sure HOW this is happening or why, I can only explain what i do, and what i see.

I put a max leveled ice mage in the front, with 2 max leveled priests behind her (both with zeal, which I assume is causing the glitch). I put both priests on fight, and watch them grind. The priests zeal periodically, and my GUESS is that sometimes their zeal buff becomes permanent. Over time, I start noticing that the icemage's big AOE (ice splash I believe) and the zeal pulses start doing increasing damage (per kill? per cast? per zeal occurence? not quite sure.) Its pretty obvious though, because the damage numbers are in gold, and they just keep climbing in damage as the level moves on. They start out at 300, then 550, then 900, then 2500, then 10000, then 16000, before long I'm seeing AOE explosions do 250k+ dmg to the whole area. When the golden sheep came along, I was nearing the 1 million damage mark and the level suddenly ended with him dead.

The damage ramp up takes a little bit of time, but its by no means hard to do. I assume this is a bug, lolz.

I'm seeing the same bug on a game of Endless I'm playing at the moment. Of course, because it's Endless and I'm getting many more rounds in, I am seeing damage numbers in to the BILLIONS. See http://imgur.com/9knCV for an example - one of those hits cleared 2 billion damage :)

Edit - It does seem to hit some sort of integer overflow or cap though, I tabbed back in 100 rounds later (I've got everything maxed, so I'm just letting it run in the background to see how far it goes), and it appears to have stopped getting the crazy hits, and instead I'm getting a lot of orange 0s - I can't say for sure if that's because it's doing no damage or because it's so high it's not displaying properly though.

Edit 2 - I unsummoned both of my ice mages on the left path and resummoned them, and it appears to have cleared the effect - mobs on that side are now getting much farther than before.

If I had to guess what happens, based on what actually happened with a game a friend made: When one healer zeals while the other is zealed, the second zeal uses the current stat as the "base" number, which leads to ever increasing damage. Whether it would eventually reset if you unsummoned the healers, or just fall back to the second highest "base" number is beyond me, though.

I could be totally wrong, and I'm just now trying to reproduce it on my game.

Bug reproduced. I think it's as simple as Zeal's being allowed to stack.

I think I'll throw in a special case where Zeal's can be "refreshed" (or improved by a stronger zeal, so the stronger one takes precedence), but not allowed to stack potencies.

If it's only happening for AoE/splash attacks, I think I've found the bug and (hopefully) fixed it. Testing now.
